When + How to Submit a
Letter of Inquiry (LOI)
The Rainwater Charitable Foundation accepts proposals for funding by invitation only, but may accept LOIs for education-related programs that fall within our current areas of focus. Additionally, we are generally unable to make grants to the following:
Individuals or Families
Political Organizations, political candidates, lobbyists or related organizations
International organizations that are not qualified under U.S. IRS regulations
If your organization falls within one of our EDUCATION funding focus areas and is not excluded by the above restrictions, you may submit an LOI by following the instructions below.
If you have never used our online system, please create a new account and follow instructions in Step 3.
To create a new account, please follow these steps:
Click Create a New Account and complete all required fields.
Confirm email and click Finish.
If you have previously used our online system, please log in and follow instructions in Step 3.
Once you have logged in to our system please follow these steps to submit your LOI:
Enter access code “2019 LOI”. (Password is case sensitive and includes space.)
All six questions are required and have multiple-choice/short answer formats with the exception of the 6th, which is a brief (250 word) summary of the proposal.
Click Save if you’d like to return to the LOI later, and click Submit when you have completed the form. Once you’ve submitted the LOI, you’ll receive an automated email confirmation.
