Areas of Focus
Early Childhood & Family Support
With the understanding that financial stability and asset building are critical to achieving long-term success and prosperity, we are committed to helping individuals and families achieve financial security and independence.
K-12 Education
By providing funding for innovative educational programs, non-profit partners, and data-driven initiatives, the foundation is working to improve academic outcomes, increase access to educational opportunities, and promote equity and inclusion in education.
Funding Process
The Rainwater Charitable Foundation accepts proposals for funding by invitation only, but may accept LOIs for education-related programs that fall within our current areas of focus. Our team reviews LOIs twice a year, in April and October.
Theory of Change
Our mission at the Rainwater Foundation is to work alongside organizations and communities so that every child, regardless of their circumstances, has opportunities for future success.
We seek to do this by:
- Supporting initiatives that provide children with high quality learning experiences to prepare them socially, emotionally, and academically to be successful in life
- Supporting initiatives that increase family economic security
- Supporting efforts to build social and physical capital in communities, especially within underinvested and generationally disenfranchised neighborhoods
- And supporting initiatives that remove barriers to resources and expand opportunities for children, starting at birth
