Family Economic Security Funding

Funding Process

The Rainwater Charitable Foundation invites funding proposals by invitation only and reviews Letters of Inquiry (LOIs) for programs aligned with our current focus on Family Economic Security.

We are seeking to support innovative and impactful programs, with priority given to those that aim to improve student outcomes in reading and math in Tarrant County.

Our team reviews letters of intent (LOI) twice a year, in June and October. Please note, we can only make grants to organizations designated as a 501c3 Public Charity by the IRS (or the equivalent) and we are unable to make grants to the following:

• Private Foundations
• Individuals or Families
• Political Organizations, political candidates, lobbyists, or related organizations
• International organizations that are not qualified under U.S. IRS regulations

If your organization falls within one of our Family Economic Security funding focus areas and is not excluded by the above restrictions, you may submit an LOI.

Instructions for Submitting an LOI

1) Register for the Grantee Portal

To submit an LOI via our online portal, you must manually register for access to the portal.

• Go to the Portal Login Page: https://rainwatercharitablefoundation.my.site.com
• Click the “Not a member?” link at the bottom right corner of the screen. Follow the instructions and provide the requested information to register as a user.
• Open the automated email sent to the email address you used during portal registration.
• Set a password that meets the specified criteria and click Continue.
  • After you create a password, you will be logged in and taken to the Home page of the Portal

2) Submit an LOI

• Go to https://rainwatercharitablefoundation.my.site.com and log in with your portal credentials. If you do not have portal credentials, please follow the instructions in theRegister for the Grantee Portal section.
• Click on the Submit an LOI or Prize Nomination tab in the navigation bar at the top of the page.
  • View the list of available Funding Programs for more information on each.
• Select the Funding Program that you would like to apply for, then click the Apply button.
  • A confirmation screen will appear, click NEXT to begin the application
  • You’ll be taken to the LOI on the next screen to complete the full LOI.
• Fill out the application
  • Follow the instructions and navigate through the sections to complete the application questions
  • Note: All fields must be completed or the Submit button will not be visible on the second tab.
